Amphitheatre moves ahead, and so does the Music Board

Hello one last time!

This is Brett Tannehill ... now the former chairman of the Huntsville Music Board. Crickett Hoffman, Celese Sanders, Chuck Rutenburg and myself have stepped aside after a year of service, and new faces are now on the team. You can meet the new Music Board members by clicking here. They continue their efforts to find ways to accomplish the goals and initiatives laid out in the 2019 Music Audit. Meanwhile, Huntsville's scene is still alive and well as we all continue to figure out how to support original music in our community. One bit of big news involves the Huntsville Amphitheatre, which dropped a new promotional video. The Amphitheatre is now scheduled to open in 2022. While venues and musicians continue to struggle a bit finding ways to make live shows safe and profitable, there has been no slowing down in the amount of new, original music being produced by local artists. Forgive me for leaving anyone off this list, but I wanted to try to compile all the Huntsville-area artists who released new music in 2020. So as my parting shot, I wanted to shout-out all the amazing music professionals who have built (and continue to build) something amazing for all of us to enjoy. So make sure you do that! Go see a show. Buy some merch. Drop a few bucks in a band's virtual tip jar. That extra $5 you chip might not be much to you, but it's HUGE to bands trying to level up.
